Scratch - Brick!
The classic brick breaker game has been known by many names, but the original, which I grew up playing, was called Breakout. Developed by Atari in 1976, it can be seen as an evolution of Pong with the benefit of not requiring two players. The screen on the arcade version was black and white, but they made it look like colour by sticking strips of coloured tape over the bricks - crafty!
It was built by renowned Apple engineer Steve Wozniak, using a circuit built out of 44 transistor chips, rather than a microprocessor. Don't worry though, you don't need to get the soldering iron out: not only do you have gigascale computing power, you also have Scratch to help you on your way.
